What is God?

Sometimes the simplest questions, lead to the greatest answers.

The word “God” has been translated into many different words in different languages, but it all boils down to one thing: a supernatural being who is all-powerful and present everywhere.

सर्वतः पाणिपादं तत्सर्वतोऽक्षिशिरोमुखम्‌ । सर्वतः श्रुतिमल्लोके सर्वमावृत्य तिष्ठति ॥

sarvatah pani-padam tat
sarvato ’ksi-siro-mukham
sarvatah shrutimat loke
sarvam avrtya tishthati (Gita 13/14)

sarvatah—everywhere; pani—hands; padam—legs; tat—that; aksi—eyes; sirah—head; mukham—face; srutimat—hearing; loke—in the world; sarvam—everywhere, avrtya—covering; tisthati—exists.

This is a shloka from Bhagwad Gita where Sri Krishna said: O Arjuna, all around us are His (God’s) hands and feet, eyes, heads, faces, and ears. Everything in our cosmos is infused with the Supreme Soul in this way.

👉He’s the one who is constantly working to change seasons,

👉He’s the one who makes rivers flow,

👉He’s the one who created this planet and its many wonders.

🌳That’s just a few of the cool things God does.

So next time you think about Him, please thank Him for all He has done.
